Brazil Visa Services

Important:

 

Money Order Fee - Effective, October 4, 2017, for all visa and passport services that require money orders, USCCC will charge a $1.20 money order fee.  

 

While completing the Brazilian visa application online, please upload your photo into the visa application system.  

 

You will still need to send us your passport photos with your application materials.

 

Processing times - Processing times for Brazil visas are estimated processing times. Times vary by jurisdiction and can change without warning.  Please leave sufficient time for visa processing and contact our office if you need rush processing. Any errors in the application materials can delay the process of obtaining a visa.

 

Consular Closings - The Brazil Consulate will be closed on September 4.

Brazil Business Visa Requirements (VIVIS):

1. Valid Passport with an expiration date greater than six months from the date of entry and at least two

    blank pages.

​2. Completed and Signed Application Form. The application must be filled out electronically at:

    https://scedv.serpro.gov.br/frscedv/index.jsp

  • Once on the site, click on "“VISA REQUEST.” The entire application must be filled out.  To view the website in English, click on the British flag.

  • While completing your online application form, please upload your photo and supporting application materials into the application system.  Your photo should be a recent passport style photo (full face, white background) and fulfill following requirements.

  • Print out the delivery receipt and sign the signature section after completion.

3. Two recent passport-style color photos, with full face, front view, no hat, and against a plain white  

    background.

4. Travel Itinerary or a Copy of a Plane Ticket

5. Notarized Copy of Driver’s License or State ID

6. Business Letter from Applicant’s Company in US (see sample)

  • Business letter must contain the statement: Applicant will not be performing any activities that are incompatible with a business visa (such as paid work, technical assistance, or any technical training) in Brazil and will not be getting paid.

  • Houston jurisdiction- business letter must be notarized (see sample)

7. Invitation Letter from Sponsoring Company in Brazil.  You must supply an invitation letter written in Portuguese in order to expedite the processing times. (see sample)

* Please note that the Brazilian Consulate may request additional documents for non-US passport holders and ​the processing time may take longer.

Visa Types

Business Visa (VIVIS) - A Business Visa is issued to a person who is invited to Brazil for business.

Tourist Visa (VIVIS) - A Tourist Visa is issued to a person who comes to Brazil for sightseeing, visiting family members/friends or other private purposes.

Technical Assistance/Temporary Work Visa - Qualified professionals whose employer (non-Brazilian company) has a contract, cooperation agreement or partnership with a Brazilian company and are being requested to perform short term technical assistance or technology transfer. 

 

**Tourist and Business visas can be issued for ten years multiple entry visas for US Citizens.  Non-US passport holders should contact our office when applying for a Brazil visa. Each entry can have a durations of up to 90 days per stay.

**This service is only for people residing within the Chicago Consulate's jurisdiction. This includes applicants who live in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

*An additional shipment fee will be charge in order to send the application materials to the New York Consulate to be process for expedition. This cost will be charged either through the provided shipping account or through the USCCC account.

USCCC accepts cash, credit card or check. If you would like to pay by check, please make the check payable to US-China Chamber of Commerce. We accept MasterCard, Visa, and American Express credit cards. Please note that a 4.9% credit card fee applies to the total cost.

 

Any additional work required to complete a visa in a timely manner may be subjected to an additional charge. For example, additional trips to the Consulate or personal passport delivery.

USCCC can ship the completed passport, Brazil visa and receipt using the applicant's FedEx or UPS shipping account. If the applicant does not have a shipping account, we will charge a shipping fee to cover the cost of shipping. The estimated shipping cost is $32.50.
